Coffee Granita

This is an easy dinner party recipe to wow your guests; a great way to end any meal, especially in the summer months.

  • 500ml freshly strong black coffee
  • 75g golden caster sugar
  • 100ml any coffee liqueur
  • 1 tub mascarpone cheese
  • 50g grated dark chocolate


Prep time: 10 mins Cook time: 0 mins

When the coffee is still warm, pour it into a jug and stir in the sugar until it dissolves. Add the coffee liqueur and allow to completely cool.

Pour the mixture into a freezable container and place in the freezer for an hour. Remove and mix with a fork, ice crystals will start forming at the edges. Return to the freezer again for 20 minutes and then stir again. Repeat this a couple more times until you have no liquid, just clumps of ice.

When you are ready to serve, spoon the granita into elegant glasses, with a helping of mascarpone and some grated chocolate.
