Pears with a Chocolate Sauce

This easy and naturally gluten and wheat free dessert is a crowd pleaser. Add a dash of alcohol and it transforms into a very grown-up pudding.

Ingredients

  • 2 x 410g cans of pears in syrup
  • 100g chocolate - cut into small chunks
  • 8 scoops of good quality vanilla ice cream
  • 2 tbsp chopped walnuts (optional)

Method

Prep time: 5 mins Cook time: 5 mins

Remove the pears from the tins and divide them between 4 dishes. Place the syrup in a small pan and heat on high until it has reduced and is thick. Take off the heat and stir in the chocolate until it has melted.

Place 2 scoops of ice cream in all 4 dishes and pour over the hot chocolate sauce and top with the chopped nuts, if using.

If you are adding alcohol, add your favourite tipple to the sauce and serve.
