Slow Cooked Pulled Pork
This must be one of the easiest and in my opinion, one of the tastiest and most succulent pulled pork recipes there is. Tried and tested on many occasions, this recipe gets the same perfect results each time. Serve it alongside some roasted vegetable, sweet potato fries or with stuffing and apple sauce inside a roll. Absolutely delicious.
Ingredients
- 1.8 kg boneless pork shoulder with skin and fat left on
- 1 carton of concentrated apple juice
- 500g of gluten and wheat free BBQ sauce (I use Tiptree)
Information
Diet: Gluten and Wheat Free
Cuisine: British
Type: Main
Method
Place the pork in a slow cooker skin side up and pour over the carton of apple juice. The pork does not need to be completely covered by the juice.
Set the slow cooker to low and cook for 10-12 hours - I do this overnight.
Remove the pork from the cooker and take off the hard skin and fat.
Shred the pork using two forks and stir the pork into the slow cooker juices.
Next stir in the BBQ sauce and cook on low for another hour or until you are ready to serve.
This can be served with so many different accompaniments. Roasted vegetables, garlic bread, roast potatoes, chips, sweet potato fries, salad or jacket potatoes.
